Gina V Physical Therapy in Papillion
It’s no coincidence Gina V Physical Therapy found its way to the Golden Rule Plaza in the historic downtown Papillion business district at 114 East 1st Street and has experienced a highly successful start in its first 15 months.

“Our goal is to bless others as we have been blessed, and everything that happens at Gina V Physical Therapy is a true testament to our faith in God,” said Gina Vanderheiden, DPT, ATC, whose practice moved into the renovated century-old former Golden Rule grocery store building near the corner of 1st and Jefferson Streets, a block east of North Washington Street.
Establishing Gina V Physical Therapy was a leap of faith, Gina conceded, when she and her husband, CEO Mark Vanderheiden, opened the practice in January 2016. “Never more in our lives were we ever trusting that God would guide us down this journey of business ownership,” Gina said. “It took a lot of prayers and a strong faith to muster the courage that we could make this work. By God’s grace, the timing was right. We wake up every day simply astounded by the number of God’s blessings we have received since the day we opened our doors.”
Gina holds a physical therapy degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine. She also is Athletic Trainer Certified. While connecting with patients of all ages, she is a relationship-builder who considers her clients to be like family. Pointing out that she loves challenges, Gina explained: “We don’t want someone living with physical problems, grinding it out and giving up their hobbies because of a sore back, leg, arm, neck or other affliction they may be suffering.”
Gina started Gina V Physical Therapy to create an atmosphere where patients enjoy coming to therapy and feel comfortable to do so. In addition to handling all medical ailments, including sports injuries and orthopedic care, Gina is also one of the few metro-area physical therapists who is certified to perform Functional Dry Needling®. Functional Dry Needling is an innovative new treatment that focuses on certain trigger points in the body that will help relieve acute and chronic pain and help accelerate an individual’s rehabilitation.
While excelling in Functional Dry Needling, orthopedic disorders, and athletic injuries, Gina V Physical Therapy’s services include joint rehabilitation, manual therapy, traumatic conditions, work injuries, aquatic therapy, balance programs, postural deviations, fitness programs and work conditioning.
Gina wanted to locate her clinic in Papillion so she could work in the same community in which she lives. “My husband Mark and I are small-town folks at heart and community-driven. We support local businesses, including the local eateries within walking distance. We also support the schools in the Papillion-La Vista school district and cheer on the Monarchs and Titans, no matter what sport or activity,” said Gina, whose clinic also supports the Chariots4Hope charity and the Papillion Race Series.
“It hurts us to see our patients hurting,” Gina said. “We promise to use our God-given skills and expertise to their fullest with each patient. It’s truly a blessing to see people leave with a smile and with the confidence that recovery is within sight or complete.” ~ Gina V.
